Forest river speedpainting by Ranarh Forest river speedpainting by Ranarh
"Before sunset, the yellow forest's scents were weighed down with dew and fog. It was a tedious and stressful journey without a path, but the mysteries of the Broken Jaw Rocks had to be uncovered."
Ralgonkin Lair, mage

I created this Genius Loci painting by working out shapes from the mist, loosely based on an already loose pencil sketch I did some time ago. I like the atmosphere here - I imagine it's early morning just before dawn, the entire day holds promise but is still quiet, like an autumn morning starting with fog but clearing up later.

Find out more about my world Genius Loci in my blog Starmaker's Gaze or my website jsl-art.de.

Thank you. Getting the atmosphere right is one of the most important parts after all.

Thank you, a lot of fog usually makes a surreal feeling ;)

Awesome painting. Are those little animal people standing on the road?

They are in fact people wading through the river with their packs lifted above their heads, ando one of them is a gar (lizard people).

Thanks :thanks:
