Finally another assignment I managed for #Weekly-Environment.

Ravom three is not the largest gas giant of its system, but the richest, and a mining station is in planning to harvest the blue boriatkea gas, which is essential to atmospheric processors of Jiliriol ships. Nobody really knows what exactly they use it for - certainly not for breathing - but as long as they pay the hefty prices, nobody asks.

Cool gas giant :) Is one of the moon inhabitable?

Indeed. You see the small brownish one up left? It doesn't have indigenous intelligent life, but the Fafkirr settled it some five hundred years ago (their name for it, "Shrue-knit-dwas" or something, means "hidden water" and refers to glaciers below the dust). Both water-carrying planets are not fit for habitation; the dark blue one is subject to massive tidal forces of the giant, and the light blue one sports beaches of arsene and cadmium mountains - good for mining, not so good for living.

Cool. So I take it that the Fafkirr are aliens and the moon up left is the main settlement. Group bylaws for the OPaaT shared universe require artists' first planets to have a population limit of 10,000 intelligent being ([link]). Would you like for me to add it to this starmap ([link])?

Not the main settlement, more of a colony. They have an actual home planet (not shown here ;)).
By all means add it to the map! :)

Thank you so much :) I've added it here ([link]). Derrickson's Landing is currently engaged in some degree of terraforming, so that place may be a potential purchaser of the terraforming substance you mentioned in your description.

Okay, cool. Although I did say it's unclear what the gas is used for, only that they need in in their ships. But I guess scaled-up breathing processors bought from the Jiliriol could help with terraforming. I'll ask them next time I speak with the commerce guild liaison.

Oh, I see. So it's more like a rare substance like "spice" from the Dune series. Well, the Jiliriol sound interesting :)

Something like spice, yeah. Not quite as important, I guess, after all the Jiliriol are but one of many species, but important enough. Not sure if there are also giant worm creatures guarding/producing it - I am partial for those, though, like the whatsitsnames from Star Wars or the Farscape budong. Maybe I'll invent some enormous gas monster, would be fun!
