Still working up the odler asignments of #Weekly-Environment. The goldmine topic was rather pleasant to do because of the simple shapes I could use. Mining is a very depressing view. Here in Germany, villages are being relocated and the houses then eaten by mining companies. And that's supposed to be civilization.
What is lovely is the adding of figures to give a sense of scale, and the light brush strokes really make it look like sand is moving on the winds. The first one is my favourite because of the sudden gleam of light in the cave. These ones feel very expressive!
I did these in Photoshop and found out that the default chalk brush is indeed a very versatile one.
