A concept for my setting Genius loci. I imagine all kinds of weird landscapes for the strange dreamy world of the Area.
I started this by wildly covering the canvas with gradients and nozzles in Painter, and when a structure emerged, switched to Photoshop to paint in light and shadows, going back and forth between both programs.

And on we go in the 2012 challenge by #DailyDoodlers

My entries so far.

Genius Loci is a world where spirits and ghosts walk among the people, where legendary creatures cause the rise or fall of empires, and where the races share unique cultures. Its mystical landscapes are soaked with magic and populated with riddles and legends.
