This is a more general collection of tips and hints for painting different materials. I often see young artists struggle with it, and thought that a few rules of thumb would be helpful. This is of course nowhere in-depth about painting any of the discussed materials, nothing about the colouring of metal, the exact behaviour of fabric etc. and other things that are often asked.

This is incredibly useful! In my aim to move into realistic painting I ned all the help I can get, it's always frustrating when you can see really good textures but can't say why or how they work. Thank you for the breakdown
