There are many details about noses; highlights, creases, skin issues etc. Please, forget beauty ideals - people with long, hooked noses are pretty, too. Since noses are sticking out, they are the first to be injured, cut, or sunburnt. Broken noses are lopsided and knobbly. Rough or old skin shows with large pores. There's often a dip in the tip where the cartilages meet. Also check out *ConceptCookie's nose tutorial, it's very well done.
"Ranarh's tiny tips" is a collection of iddy-biddy tutorials, each containing small bites of advice anyone can chew, aimed at beginner's level artists. They are not software-dependent. If there's a problem you have, something you feel someone should finally explain, or are just curious what I have to say on a particular artistic matter, feel free to tell me.
Wow. I've used ConceptCookies' tutorial in the past, but my noses never came out quite right. I guess I might've misunderstood it or something. Thanks, I guess I might actually be able to work this out and make unique facial features now.
Thank you, I used to have big problems with noses, and now that I've made more progress with painting, I find there is little to say about them. Curious, isn't it?
