This Tiny Tip deals with contrast methods, from colour to shape; there are many ways to go about contrast, and how to make sure the focal point really is the one that stands out most. For further study, look at artworks that are mostly grey with spots of colour, at artworks that are particularly colourful, at very stark contrast like silhouettes, and at very hazy artworks to see where they make things sharp. Also look at concept art, where silhouette, e.g. shape contrast, is very important, especially in children's media (triangles for villains, circles for chubby good guys, y'know).
